Little Sossus Lodge

A Little Sossus Lodge is a very inviting old farmhouse that has been converted into an ethnic African lodge. Here you can experience the tranquillity of the desert surroundings with kaleidoscope sunsets. It is situated in the spectacular Namib Naukluft National Park, the largest conservation area in Africa. Some of the highest dunes are found in Sossusvlei and can reach close to 400m. Open plan areas allow guests to wander freely in a very relaxing lodge atmosphere. The lodge offers 20 chalets with environmentally friendly amenities and appliances powered by renewable energy sources. Twin beds are available in 12 of the chalets while 4 cater for families.

A guided Sossusvlei tour allows a full experience of the deserts intricate secrets. All trips are carried out in 4x4 vehicles with experienced guides employed by the lodge itself. The trips are either administered in English, German or Afrikaans. A very famous attraction that can be expected on this trip is a visit to Deadvlei – a white clay pan with approximated 900 year-old dead camelthorn trees that give a unique contrast in the middle of the red desert dunes.

The Sundowner drive is by far the most liked activity. It includes a pleasant, leisurely drive that winds up the side of a mountain to bring you to a breath-taking African sunset while enjoying drinks and snacks.
