    A True Namibian Adventure

    N$26800 per person

This is an itinerary for those looking for real adventure. This journey takes you to all corners of the desert with incredible landscapes every day from the rusty dunes of Sossusvlei to the hills of Kaokoland. The highlight of this itinerary is certainly the three full days of wild camping with your Namvic guide in the Palmwag Concession. A rare experience not to be missed.

Accommodation: Mostly camping with a few nights in lodges at the end to relax.
Reminder: All Namvic itineraries are tailor made to your budget and preferences. Do not hesitate to get in contact with us to modify this itinerary so that it suits you best. This is just an example of what we can do for you.

    Day 1:

Our handover agent will be the first friendly Namibian face you see at the airport as they greet you at arrivals. We provide a free transfer from the airport to our offices where you will pick up your 4×4, sign the paperwork and we will explain how to use all of your camping equipment and keep the car in the best condition possible on the dusty Namibian roads.
Lodge: Your first night will be in the bush at the picturesque Auas Safari Lodge. Enjoy your first G&T in Namibia while watching the antelopes at the waterhole. Basis: DBB

    Day 2:

Depending on what time you arrived yesterday you may or may not have had time to do your food shop. If not, this morning we suggest you get up bright and early to do a large grocery shop before heading off in direction of Sesriem. As the road takes you further south west you will get your first sights of the Namib desert. Set up camp right inside the national park next to the dunes and oryx.
Campsite: Tonight you sleep at Sesriem Campsite. Basis: SC

    Day 3:

This morning you will wake up extra early to head into Sossusvlei before the sun even rises. Climb to the top of Dune 45 to see the first rays light up the highest dunes in the world. Then head over to the famous trees at deadvlei, maybe climb Big Daddy then finish the morning at Sesriem Canyon. In the afternoon start driving north and make sure you stop at Solitaire for some Apple Pie.
Campsite: This evening you set up camp at Rostock Ritz with incredible views over the mountains. Basis: SC

    Day 4:

Today continue driving north via the Kuiseb Canyon and Gaub pass with a quick stop at the Tropic of Capricorn. Arrive on the cool misty coast and get a few photos of the Walvis Bay flamingos before going to the quirky town of Swakopmund to top up your fridge with groceries before getting back on a nice tar road to end the day at the foot of the spectacular Spitzkoppe mountain.
Campsite: Sleep under the milky way at Spitzkoppe campsite. Basis: SC

    Day 5:

This morning go for a walk around the beautiful mountains and look for the ancient bushman paintings hidden between the rocks at Spitzkoppe. Then head back onto the gravel roads to make your way to the little mining town of Uis where we suggest you stop for a yummy beverage at Cactus & Coffee. Continue onwards into the heart of Damaraland and discover the typical Damaraland boulders which turn the landscape all shades of red and brown.
Campsite: Camp at Madisa tonight. Basis: SC

    Day 6:

Just around the corner from Madisa you will arrive at Twyfelfontein, a UNESCO World Heritage site where you can visit an incredible collection of rock engravings with a local guide. We also suggest visiting the friendly locals at the Damara Living Museum. Continue north to and start going up in altitude to the spectacular Grootberg Lodge.
Lodge: Sleep in a beautiful room at Grootberg Lodge overlooking the Klip Valley. Basis: DBB

    Day 7:

Head back down the mountain to Palmwag Lodge where you will meet your Namvic guide. Your guide will brief you on how the next few days will go as you will be wild camping in the Palmwag Concession. Once that is done you will head into the concession and slowly make your way to your first wild camp. You will be responsible for setting up your own tent but the guide will prepare meals.
Wild Camping: A night under the stars at Kaias wild camp. Basis: FB+

    Day 8:

Today you will spend the day with your guide exploring the concession and searching for the elusive black rhinos and desert adapted elephants. You will thoroughly feel immersed in nature as you may not see another human or vehicle while you are there, and certainly no buildings!
Wild Camping: Another night under the stars at Kaias wild camp. Basis: FB+

    Day 9:

Back on the rocky roads, today you will travel through many different landscapes and rock formations as you go towards Kaokoland. If you are lucky you may seem some rhinos on the way. Follow your guide as he shows you the best path to take.
Wild Camping: Last night wild camping on the edge of the Hoanib river. Basis: FB+

    Day 10:

Today your guide will accompany you out of the Palmwag concession using the dry Hoanib river bed as your personal highway. He will leave you when you reach the hot springs of Ongongo where you can enjoy a lovely swim in a natural pool.
Campsite: Camp at Ongongo community campsite. Basis: SC

    Day 11:

Your last stretch north today will take you to the little known Camp Aussicht, up in the Kaokoland mountains. Your host Marius built his house and your rooms himself along with the incredible dioptase and chrysocolla mine he dug out by hand. Meet Marius and explore the mine then enjoy dinner with him in his home.
Lodge: Sleep in a twin room at Camp Aussicht. Basis: DBB

    Day 12:

Today you will visit a local himba tribe that your host Marius has known for over thirty years. Thus he will be able to translate for you as you interact with these beautiful people. We encourage you to ask questions and exchange information with them so that they can learn about you and you can learn about them.
Lodge: Another night at Camp Aussicht. Basis: DBB

    Day 13:

Head back south today and back into Damaraland as you start your return journey towards Windhoek. Your trip may be approaching its end but you will not think of that when you arrive at your accommodation as you will just want to make the most of its beautiful décor and scenery. Vingerklip lodge is situated next to the famous Vingerklip, or rock finger that stands high over the Ugab valley.
Lodge: A comfy night’s sleep awaits you at Vingerklip Lodge. Basis: DBB

    Day 14:

We suggest you start your day by a walk around the Vingerklip and Ugab Valley, then maybe stop at Otjiwarongo’s crocodile farm for lunch. Then you can either head straight to your last night’s accommodation to relax or take a detour via Waterberg National Park for a hike up to the top of the plateau.
    Lodge: Dusternbrook Guestfarm Basis: DBB

    Day 15:

Today is your last day in Namibia and you return your trusty 4×4 to the Namvic office from which we will transport you to the airport for free.
